Acacia of Hope empowers the people of Kenya spiritually, educationally, and economically through our educational center, child sponsorships, clean water & hygiene, support groups, jewelry, and sports ministries.
MAKE-A-CHANGE CHILD SPONSORSHIP | Education is a prize possession in Africa culture. The UN Millennium Project found that if a child in Africa is given an education, then their survival rate goes up 40%. We can help save lives by giving African an opportunity to learn. Every child deserve to be able to read, to write, and to learn. Giving donors sponsor over sixty children in Kibera through Acacia of Hope. Learn more about our children here. Because of the hard work of our sponsors, we are able to partner with Kibera schools, and make an impact by saving lives of girls in Africa.
Sponsorship allows girls to go to school and receive a daily meal. Most of all, it provides them an opportunities for their future. To learn more about our sponsorship, go to our Sponsor-A-Child page.

WEEKLY BIBLE CLUBS | One of our newer additions to our ministry, we work with a local woman who leads a Bible Club for children of all ages at her home in Kibera Slum. Acacia of Hope provides some food and resources, such as pencils and booklets to her ministry.
Mama Regina, as many call her, desires to share the Word of God to anyone who desires to hear. Her Bible Clubs are attended by children from the ages of 6 months to 15 years old. Between 40 to 85 children can come on any given Saturday.
ACACIA ACCENT LINE | Our handmade jewelry and accessories are made by men, women, and children who live in Kenya in order to earn a living. Items available are: necklaces, bracelets, earrings, salt & pepper shakers, sandals, fabrics, and soapstone. We also carry the MudLove brand bracelets that provide water wells in Africa.
Items can be purchased at Mercy Unlimited in downtown Wapakoneta, Ohio.
WATER & HYGIENE | A flushing toilet or glass of water from the faucet is an item that daily taken for granted in the western world. For those who live in developing countries, those everyday accessibilities can mean life or death. According to UNICEF, “Nearly half of all people using dirty water live in sub-Saharan Africa” (2015). Clean water, toilets, and good hygiene are vital for the existence of people living in Kibera. Acacia of Hope desires to bring these basic necessities to the children and their families. We currently provide:
- clean and clear water through water filters
- demonstrations of how to use toothbrushes and toothpaste
- bars of soap and wash clothes to children
- sanitary napkins to school girls to ensure that they do not miss a day of school
MEN OF HOPE | According to the Daily Nation, six out of ten Kenyan women are likely to be single mothers by the time they reach 45, one of the highest rates for single-parent families in Africa (2013). There are a variety of factors why Africa, specifically Kenya, has one of the highest rates of single-parent homes; in most cases fathers are leaving the mother and the children on their own. For some, the fathers are irresponsible, but for many, fathers have an overwhelming amount of pressure to make sure that their family can survive. The odds are stacked against them.
Men of Hope is our newest addition to the Acacia ministry. Proverbs 27:17 states, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens the face his neighbor.” Our goal is to empower the men of Africa to lead his family while also providing the support he needs to keep his family together. By men meeting together and having fellowship and time in God’s Word, we aim to encourage and strengthen them.
SPORTS MINISTRY | We are excited about bringing intramurals with a twist of Jesus into our programing in future.
Details to come in future.
