At Star of Hope School, nestled in the heart of the Kibera Slum, small changes are making a big impact in the lives of our littlest learners. Thanks to your ongoing support through our school Tribe Changers program, we were recently able to provide new sitting mats for circle time and small mattresses for nap time—simple items that mean everything to children who are eager to learn, grow, and rest in comfort.

Imagine starting your school day seated on a cold, hard floor. Now, imagine that same moment cushioned with a soft mat, surrounded by friends, and welcomed into a space that says, “You matter.” These mats are more than just supplies—they’re a tangible expression of dignity, care, and love.

For nap time, the addition of small mattresses has brought a new level of peace and restoration to the day. After hours of active learning, our littles now have a cozy spot to lay their heads and recharge. These moments of rest are essential to their development—and now they can experience them in comfort and safety.

Star of Hope is more than a school; it’s a beacon of possibility. And with every mat and mattress, we’re helping write a better story for each child. Thank you for standing with us, for believing in the potential of these young lives, and for continuing to help us bring hope—one child at a time.
