In many parts of Africa, particularly in rural areas, worship often takes place under the expansive canopy of an Acacia tree on Sundays. Without access to a formal church building, the tree serves as a natural gathering place where communities come together to practice their faith. The shade provided by the Acacia tree offers a respite from the harsh sun, creating a communal space where people can sing hymns, read scripture, and share messages of hope and encouragement. This practice not only reflects the resourcefulness of these communities but also highlights their deep commitment to worship despite the lack of traditional infrastructure.
Gathering under the Acacia tree fosters a strong sense of community and unity among worshippers, and as a mission we desire to grow with the community. We desire to build a physical place of worship for the village. For these villages, the people walk up to two miles to attend this place of worship.
