Kibera Slum is a part of Kenya’s capital, Nairobi. Kibera is the largest urban slum in all of Africa and said to be the second largest in the entire world. Due to its congested population, and numerous attempts of a housing census, estimated population is between 500,000 to 1,000,000 people. Unemployment rates are high, causing people to prostitute or steal. Although there are a few great schools right inside Kibera, most families cannot afford education for their children. Clean water is scarce. Sickness is caused by poor hygiene and congestion of population. A great majority living in the slum lack electricity.

Although most of the residents live in extreme poverty, earning less than two dollars a day, the people have hope of a future. The people desire to know God and to receive hope.
