The purpose of the fundraising dinner is to raise dollars to go to those who need it the most. For many girls who get their period, it means stopping or dropping out of school. The cost of feminine hygiene products in Africa are almost as twice as they are in America. An Oxford review of studies in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia found that at least half of the girls in the populations sampled did not have adequate access to hygiene solutions.
The raised money will go towards buying reusable hygiene kits for 150 girls in Kibera Slum in Kenya, Africa. It will allow them to go to school for the next 2-3 years without skipping a day!
The dinner is on October 19th at 6:30PM. Dinner include a full, catered meal by famous Cloud Nine Cafe including: meat, vegetables, salad, roll, drinks, and delicious variety of desserts!
